I keep in stock a good selection of bows with prices starting from £16.50.  These are basic bows but
perfectly usable having round wooden sticks and genuine horse hair.  Significantly better, but not
much more expensive, is a similar bow but with an octagonal stick.  I keep all sizes from an 1/8
upwards in stock.

The octagonal Brazilwood bows at £45 - £60 that I sell represent superb value for money.  To get
something markedly better would mean having to upgrade to a bow with a stick made from
Pernambuco which would mean spending at least £150.

I have a number of second hand and antique bows for sale.  All these I have restored or refurbished
and they will be mostly of German origin with either Brazilwood or Pernambuco sticks. They will
have new, good quality white horsehair, new lapping if necessary, plus any modifications to the brass
eye and adjusting screw that might be required.

I am prepared to lend up to five of the more expensive bows at any one time so they can be tried over
an extended period.  The importance of a good bow is not always fully appreciated and choosing the
correct one can take some time.
